Wiring a trailer usually means splicing into factory wires, but this harness skips that step. The Curt T-Connector plugs directly into existing tail light connectors to give you a working 4-flat trailer plug. It’s a simple plug-and-play setup with no cutting or soldering needed.
This harness uses a powered converter to draw power directly from the vehicle battery instead of the tail light circuits. That keeps the trailer lights bright and protects sensitive vehicle electronics from overload. If you ever need to troubleshoot, you can easily check voltage at the converter’s input and output to confirm proper function.
When not towing, the 4-flat connector stays tucked inside the trunk. When it’s time to tow, just pull it out and close the hatch over the wire—the gasket flexes to protect it from pinching. Unable to finish the battery hook up to the wiring. I have "T8" Xc90, Hybird, battery connections are not the same as any information available, unsure at the moment how to proceed, do not want to loose any settings if I take off connections.
As advertised,this harness is a snap to install.
I did also added a”P”clamp to the harnesses at the light assemblies to tuck everything in tight.

Super easy, plug and play install
Works great. Easy to install and tuck everything away when not using to keep from weather. No problems with trailer lighting from either occasional [moving] trailers or personal trailer.
It's an easy plug and play wiring harness although I have no tested it yet with my trailer. The video from etrailer showed the self tapping screw being put on next to a small bolt for the ground wire ,I was not comfortable drilling the screw into the body of the car. I found a large bolt down the floor next to the battery and used it for the ground. The passenger side was a bit hard to open or loosen to grab the plug wiring harness and connect the etrailer plug. Overall ,both the trailer hitch and wiring harness are DIY project for your car as it was designed for easy installation.
Delivery was prompt and followed up by CS. I used the excellent video and had it installed solo in 1.5 hours (without wirimg harness). I only had to bend the heat shield up in the middle like he said in the video, no cutting except the center of the underside of the fascia. I'll write another after I do the wiring harness.
This is my second hitch set up from etrailer and I'm very pleased with both purchases.

Great!! Easy to use, no fraying when rear door closed. When not in use we tuck in under the back floor access. Not a problem with it.
